Project Fair Go: Hearing Educator Voices

On Wednesday 11 March, we brought together educators and our development partner, Sitback, for an energising Project Fair Go discovery workshop — designed to put the voices of educators at the heart of this project.

Educators from five Specialist and Special Development Schools joined the session and spoke candidly about what’s working, what’s challenging, and what would genuinely save time and improve learning when planning and creating online safety and digital literacy resources for diverse learners.

We heard from six educators and walked through real planning scenarios together, so we can design tools that reflect classroom reality—not assumptions. It was a worthwhile day of practical insights, honest feedback and shared momentum.

Key takeaways so far

Educators told us that while AI is beginning to support planning, most still depend on trusted sources—and the real time drain is creating (not just adapting) resources. Differentiating for multiple levels, revisiting lessons through repetition, and keeping activities varied to drive engagement are all essential, but sourcing accessible supplementary materials (especially visuals and interactive content) remains difficult and often requires manual work.

What’s next

Next, we’ll turn what we heard into action—refining the Project Fair Go proof of concept with Sitback and continuing to check our direction with educators. Our focus is clear: reduce the time it takes to create quality resources, make differentiation simpler, and support a wider range of engaging, accessible materials that work for real classrooms.
