National eSmart Week 2026 Wrap Up | Alannah & Madeline Foundation Skip to main content

The eSmart team always aims for the stars, but this National eSmart Week far outstripped our wildest expectations. We had over 900 registered participants, and over 4,000 students tuned into our Storytime sessions, making this by far our biggest eSmart Week yet.

This year’s theme was “Be Connected. Be eSmart.” We chose this theme to highlight the importance of healthy connections – to each other, and to technologies that can support young people to thrive.

Virtual and in-person events

We hosted 9 virtual events – 6 Storytime sessions for children and families, 3 educator webinars, and a parent/carer workshop. Our Storytime sessions reached 164 classes across Australia, or around 4,100 children.

But the fun wasn’t just online. Our team also travelled far and wide to join events at schools and libraries in person, from Melbourne to regional Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania.

At Silverton Primary in Melbourne, we attended a special eSports Tournament (you can read about Silverton’s ambitious eSports program here), while in Tasmania, we were joined by Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, at Lindisfarne Primary School.

For the many team members who couldn’t make it to a school or library but didn’t want to miss out, we held our own eSmart Week activations at our Melbourne office. The clear highlight was a Silverton Primary-inspired eSports tournament, where prizes were up for grabs and the competition was fierce.

Thank you for another fun and inspiring year
