Thank you for your interest. Volunteer registrations for the Richmond Football Club Match Day 2025 are now closed.
When Millie (4), Aaron (7) and Jessica (10)*, were first taken into emergency care, they were traumatised. The violence and abuse they’d experienced meant they were afraid of everyone. They barely even spoke. That’s until they found the Buddy Bags that had been left on each of their beds.
Millie opened the Buddy Bag, and her eyes lit up. She carefully laid out all the items inside, one by one – and couldn’t believe they were all just for her. She was especially excited about the teddy and named him Mr. Beary.
Mr. Beary meant she had a friend to cuddle with when she needed one most. Her new bear, and her Buddy Bag, gave Millie a sense of security and comfort on one of the scariest days of her life.
We need your help to ask football fans to donate to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. Volunteers will be located at key positions in and around the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
You will volunteer on Sunday 27 July 2025, from 11.30 am - 5.15 pm.
The mighty Tigers will be taking on Collingwood.
In the lead-up to our match day, you will receive regular emails for us to keep you in the loop and share all the event key details.
Upon arrival at the MCG on match day, staff from the Alannah & Madeline Foundation will provide you with training on how to collect donations and what to say – we promise it’s super easy and fun!
We will be raising funds to help children escaping violence to heal, recover and thrive through the Foundation's Care programs.
Funds raised will support programs like our Buddy Bags program. Buddy Bags are backpacks thoughtfully packed for vulnerable children across Australia experiencing crisis, trauma, or doing it tough in emergency care. These children often arrive scared and alone, separated from parents and siblings, with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing.
When they open their Buddy Bag, the first thing they see is a teddy bear, followed by essentials from a toothbrush and toothpaste to PJs, underwear and socks.
