The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is inviting the community to be part of something truly special this September and Alannah & Madeline Day, Thursday 18 September.

This year, the Foundation is excited to grow the impact of Alannah & Madeline Day with the launch of the Purple Picnic – a fundraising initiative inviting the community to come together and raise vital funds for children escaping violence.

Host a Purple Picnic to bring love, comfort and Buddy Bags to children escaping violence

Every day, 32 children enter emergency care in Australia because they’re at risk of serious harm or have no safe place to live. Many of these children flee with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation provides Buddy Bags packed with essentials, including brand-new PJs, toiletries and a cuddly teddy to comfort children during their first nights in care.

But sadly, one in two children miss out on Buddy Bags due to a lack of funding.

By hosting a Purple Picnic and raising funds this September, you can help ensure every child in emergency care gets a Buddy Bag and the love and care they deserve.
