We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Mary on her ascension to the esteemed role of Queen Consort of Denmark. As we rejoice in this momentous occasion, we also express our deep gratitude for Queen Mary's dedicated support as our International Ambassador at the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.
As we celebrate Queen Mary's new role as Queen Consort of Denmark, we reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared with her over the years.
In 2005, Princess Mary graciously accepted the position of International Patron for the Alannah & Madeline Foundation. Her commitment to our cause marked the commencement of a profound partnership that would go on to make a significant impact on the lives of many children.
In 2007, Princess Mary took a significant step by introducing the Better Buddies program in Denmark, locally known as 'Fri for Moberri.' The program, aimed to reduce bullying and fostering positive relationships among school children, became a resounding success under her guidance.
In 2008, the Crown Prince Couple hosted a distinguished dinner at the National Gallery of Victoria. This event was instrumental in generating support for the development of eSmart, our program dedicated to promoting safe and responsible use of technology in schools, highlighting the royal couple's commitment to leveraging their influence for positive change.
2013 witnessed another milestone in our partnership as Princess Mary launched our national eSmart Libraries
program whilst visiting Sydney. This initiative, designed to equip libraries and library users with the skills needed for responsible technology use, has since found its way into more than 80% of public libraries across Australia.
In 2022, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation was humbled to receive a generous donation of $50,000 from the Mary Foundation to help mark Princess Mary’s 50th birthday. This remarkable contribution underscores her commitment to helping support and empower children and young people to be safe and inspired with the freedom to flourish.
