When Richmond footy star Jack Riewoldt ran out for his 300th AFL match in July 2021, he and his teammates were wearing very special jumpers.
They wore Alannah & Madeline Foundation-themed guernseys with design contributions from young people who have benefited from the Foundation’s work.
They were auctioned off after that Richmond-Brisbane Lions game, with money raised supporting our Children Ahead program.
The Foundation has been Richmond Football Club’s charity partner since 2012, with the Tiger Army raising more than $1.2 million, supporting programs to protect children from bullying and violence.
Richmond says the partnership demonstrates its commitment to working with the community to create positive outcomes for those experiencing disadvantage and social exclusion.
Alannah & Madeline Foundation CEO Sarah Davies said the club’s contributions helped to make an enormous difference to the lives of Australian children.
Funds raised by Richmond Football Club and its Tiger Army have contributed to the support of more than 96,000 young people, including through the critical Children Ahead program.
It highlights the importance of our corporate and community partners in ensuring our work continues to create positive change for our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
