Give now to help children escaping violence to recover, heal and thrive.
A team of more than 30 volunteers came out in force on a sunny yet chilly Melbourne day on 22 July to ask Richmond Football Club fans to dig deep to support our work. Richmond Fans, affectionately known as the ‘Tiger Army’, gave from the heart and helped the Foundation to achieve an incredible fundraising tally of over $75,000. Yet another amazing outcome as we reach 11-year of working with the Tigers.
The Saturday match at the MCG was more than just a game—it provided a chance for the community to support an important cause and show that together the Tiger Army, can help Australia’s children and young people to thrive.
Our amazing team of volunteers shared that they were “really proud” to have helped to fundraise for the Foundation and at the end of the day, were excited to take extra donations from Tigers supporters who were delighted by the team’s one point win! Throughout the day our volunteers showed unwavering support for the Foundation, not just collecting donations but spreading the word about the work that we do to help children and young people live happy, safe and strong. Together our volunteers transformed the MCG into a hub of excitement, unity, and community spirit, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all involved.
Our volunteers were the true heroes of the day, and their dedication deserves our utmost appreciation.
Beyond the thrill of the game, the Richmond Match Day showcased the club’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Thanks to the generosity the club, their supporters and the players, the 2023 event was another resounding success.
This achievement will directly benefit children in crisis, providing them with comfort and essential items during challenging times. The Tiger Army, along with our volunteers have created a lasting legacy of compassion and support for those young people in our community who need it the most.
The Richmond Match Day stands as a testament to the power of teamwork, volunteerism, and a shared passion for making a difference.
